Unto Us A Child Is Given ♪

If you have never participated in a Handel’s Messiah event, I highly recommend you do so. Written by George Frideric Handel in 1741, this chous is found in Act 1.

unto us a Son is given,
and the government shall be upon His shoulder;
and His name shall be called
The Mighty God,
The Everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.

Even without the tune the words stick with you!

  7. I sang Handel a few times when in a choir, and this piece requires a lot of energy! Also heard a modern version of this text, which was awesome!
